monday, monday, monday

when you read the title you have to say it with a jane brady kinda voice!

some mornings i look at the clock

and think

"its only 830am!"

ugh!

this morning was one of those mornings

where every time i started something

i got side tracked

and the end results 

were bad!

gross smelly mess!!

and that was only part of it!

anyways...

i looked at the clock 

thinking it had to be close to lunch time

and it was only 830 am

my heart sank 

and i didn't know if i was going to make it through the rest of the day!

This weekend i did some rearranging and organizing! 

which reminded me we had not done puzzles in 

forever!

so i pulled out a card table for the older kids to do their puzzles

the did a great job working together!

and put the other puzzles on the ground for the younger kids!

i was able to sit on the floor and help the little guys out and just enjoy some quiet time

and collect my thoughts, say a prayer and move from our weird/crazy morning to 

a fun/busy/learning morning!

after we worked on puzzles for awhile

we headed up stairs for another project

toothpicks and marshmellows, doesn't get much easier than that!

and it also gave me more time to just unwind 

and get my head on straight for the rest of the day!

i even texted a friend and said 

marshmellow + toothpicks = 

very busy well behaved children

i don't even think the kids were being bad/naughty!

i think they were just happy to see each other and

full of energy and excitement, that went a little to far!

its a good thing it was only 830 because then we were able to 

turn our attitudes/behaviors around and have fun/busy/educational morning!

anyone else have a case of the mondays?

monday menu

another week of planning meals.  

i have to admit this is prob my least favorite part of the job.

one - it means i have to spend money

two - i have to actually go to the grocery store
(i go on monday nights when no one else is there, why monday you ask...the milk is super cheap)

three - i feel like i get stuck in a rut and menu planning becomes a chore

monday - Ravioli

tuesday - grilled cheese, tomato soup

wednesday - pizzadillas

thursday - hamburgers

friday - taco muffins

my list 

monday: 

canned ravioli - shame on me i know, but the kids love it 

and it claims to have a serving of veggies in every serving :)

tuesday:

self explanatory

bread, cheese, tomato soup

this is a daycare fav

wednesday:

this is also another fav

soft shells, pizza sauce, mozz cheese, and pepperonis

i put a layer of sauce, cheese, pepperonis and 

then use my quesadilla maker to melt it all together!

and the fact that we call them pizzadillas is funny to the kids!

thursday:

again self explanatory!

hamburger or turkey burger, hamburger buns, cheese (optional)

will serve with french fries!

friday:

this will be leftover taco meat from a family meal in the evening

i take a pillsbury biscuts the ones that come in a 4 pack

will need 2 tubes to make enough for my kiddos

grease a muffin tin

flatten the biscuits and place one biscuit in each muffin tin

then add a spoon full of taco meat and taco cheese to each biscuit

and cover with another biscuit! 

bake until golden brown!

the kiddos love this!!

friday the 13th

i am not a superstitious person at all

i do think things usually happen is 3s

and that the full moon seems to 

have an affect on the elderly and children

i should really start documenting those days and see if i am right

didn't even know it was friday the 13th until a dear friend sent me a text

and then i thought 

that explains these first 3 hours

and it was only 8am!

My daughter was up WAY to early!!

which put us both in a mood by 7am!

by 830 everything smoothed out and i thought

ok today will be a good day!!

I decided we would play with dirt 

to go along with our farm theme!

it was a HUGE HUGE HUGE MESS!

the kids loved it

i stressed over it!

and anyone that knows me 

knows i dislike a mess

and i dislike cleaning a mess

while cleaning the mess up

my little picnic table broke

and while i was fixing it 

it fell on my face

and now i have a bump on my nose!

(and im a baby and it hurt!)

then the girls got into a spat

girls and spats = screaming and tears

we calmed down by doing a little coloring activity

printables were found here

lunch went GREAT!

then while cleaning lunch up my son ran across the kitchen 

tripped over my foot

and

SMACK!!

blood everywhere!!

to bed he went!

finally quiet time! 

we are having a naptime slumber party!
